A brand new report has appeared online claiming that the PlayStation 4 will receive a local emulation feature that will enable owners of the console to play older PS1 and PS2 games.

The PS4 is set to receive a special PlayStation Now game streaming service that will enable owners of Sony's console to stream from the cloud PS3 games.

Now, Eurogamer reports that Sony is planning another method of allowing PS4 users to play PS1 and PS2 games.

According to the website, a special local emulation system is going to appear for the console, allowing it to natively emulate the PS1 and PS2 hardware so that it can easily play games without requiring any other remastering.

The new system will also seamlessly output the game in HD resolutions without needing any other assets.
