PlayStation 3 owners rejoice, as Sony has finally introduced the option to add funds to wallets via PayPal directly through the PlayStation Store on the current console.

The announcement has been recently made on Sony PlayStation US blog, so it's unclear to what countries this really applies.

As expected, the Japanese company mentioned that the Sony Entertainment Network wallet could be used to purchase games, add-ons, mobile, TV episodes, avatars and any other game-related stuff.

“Adding funds to your Sony Entertainment Network wallet through PayPal is easy on PS3. When checking out from the cart on PlayStation Store, click ‘Add Funds’, then click ‘PayPal’ and transfer any amount from $5 to $150 (the maximum wallet balance amount). If you’re new to PayPal, you’ll have to set up a PayPal account first to use this option.”

This means that the minimum amount you can add on the wallet is $5, so those who wish to purchase avatars, backgrounds or any other game-related content that costs much less will have to put in the minimum amount anyway.
