The dedicated YouTube application for the PlayStation Vita has just received a new update that adds an oft-requested feature – the ability to watch videos without having to close games or applications.

The PlayStation Vita hasn't exactly generated huge sales, but Sony is dedicated to increasing the console's appeal.

Now, the company has confirmed on Twitter that a new update has been rolled out for the dedicated YouTube application for the PS Vita.

The new and improved app should now allow Vita owners to watch videos without having to quit their current suspended games or applications.

This should certainly help those who like to play games but also to interrupt those sessions to watch a quick guide on YouTube.

The app update is already live and should be automatically downloaded the next time the PS Vita is connected to a wireless network.
