It's not every day that you can pick up a video game where you can play as a rabbit that doesn't simply get eaten, but instead can dish out punishment using mad kung fu skills and halberds.

Overgrowth has been in development for quite a few years now, and it's still in its alpha phase, but the development team is still making steady progress.

The latest video published by Wolfire Games overviews the changes coming to the Alpha 209 version of Overgrowth, and showcases the complex melee combat system that made the game popular in the first place.

The latest patch added a lot of functionality to the in-game editor, allowing players to manipulate objects they attach to their characters and then save them with the attachments. The in-game editor also enables users to more easily design combat arenas.

The patch also added a ton of other fixes, and if you want to see the entire changelog, you can hit the button below.

Overgrowth has some pretty nice combat mechanics and the animations look pretty good, but everyone is most likely wondering when it will finally come out. You can follow the game's development on its subreddit, if you're interested in keeping up with what's new.
