According to a press release sent to VG247, this particular DLC is actually a prequel as it presents the events before the facility goes crazy. Players are now put in the shoes of the tipster that sent our main character, Miles Upshur, to the asylum.
You get the chance to explore the area as it was before seeing the asylum's horrific experiments, minutes before the whole complex turned into a slaughter house.
The release date for the Whistleblower DLC has not been confirmed, but newcomers can buy the initial game on Steam at 33% off.
