The development team at Moon Studios and publisher Microsoft are announcing that they have decided that the launch date for Ori and the Blind Forest will be March 11 of this year on both the Xbox One home console and the PC.

The two versions will cost players 19.99 dollars or Euro regardless of the platform, and the two teams are thanking all those who have supported the project so far for their dedication.

Previous announcements also suggested that the title would get a version for the Xbox 360 at a later date.

A new trailer for Ori and the Blind Forest shows new gameplay, including footage of the Forlorn Ruins and some interesting platforming action.

The game will use the core mechanics of the genre, but Ori himself will start off very weak and will need to acquire new abilities as the story progresses in order to be able to explore the entire world and reach his goal of saving his mother from a powerful enemy.

He will be joined in his adventures by Sein and the title is designed to introduce a new soul link mechanic which basically allows gamers to create their own checkpoints when they reach difficult areas, although this will require special resources that are difficult to get.
