Orcs Must Die Unchained, the free-to-play action strategy experience from Robot Entertainment, will enter a closed beta test phase later this week, after running a pretty successful alpha one in the last few months.

Orcs Must Die 1 and 2 delivered some great action tower defense experiences, as players had to protect a central portal from the rampaging orcs not only by setting up traps but also by taking them head-on using their own weapons.

Now, Robot Entertainment is turning the experience into something akin to a multiplayer online battle arena game like Dota 2 or League of Legends, although there are some key differences.

In order to show off these new features, a special closed beta has just been confirmed by Robot Entertainment and will debut this Friday, on June 27, for the PC.

After a pretty successful alpha, the developer is bringing new things into the beta, such as a fresh map, three more heroes, and a new deck editing system that lets you pick the best combination of traps and minions.

You can check out more details on the official website and you can guarantee access into the beta by buying some of the special packs that include in-game items for a fee.
