Brendan Iribe, the chief executive officer of the team working on Oculus Rift, says that his team is preparing an entirely new 4K resolution headset that is designed to eliminate motion sickness that some users have felt when using the device.

He is quoted by VG247 as saying that, “I stayed in it for 45 minute sessions and I did not get sick with the new prototype. We are at the edge of bringing you no motion sickness content. We are figuring out things like simulator sickness.”

At the moment, all those who have backed Oculus Rift and plan to create video games that use it are only getting access to the normal resolution headset.

The 4K standard will be rolled out in 2014 before the device is launched at retail.

The Oculus Rift is designed to introduce a full virtual reality experience and wants to become one of the mainstays of gaming on both the PC and home consoles in the coming years.
