Former EA exec David DeMartini announced that he would be joining up with Oculus VR in order to lead worldwide publishing efforts for the Oculus Rift.

David DeMartini served as senior VP at EA until October this year, and offered details about his new assignment during an interview with GamaSutra.

“What I'm doing at Oculus, it's not particularly different from what I did for seven years at EA as part of the EA Partners program. I'm figuring out how to partner effectively with big developers, small developers, all the way down to the individual who just wants to make something great for the Rift,” DeMartini stated during the interview.

Even though Oculus VR's new branch will be involved with getting developers onboard with the new tech in order to ensure an affluence of Oculus Rift compatible software, it is yet unclear whether any financial backing is involved in the budget.

The Oculus Rift technology has managed to attract attention from more than just players, some big industry names like id Software founder John Carmack also joining forces with the team, along with investors injecting an additional $75 / €55 million to support of the development of the consumer model.
