Brendan Iribe, the chief executive officer of Oculus Rift, says that at the moment, major publishers are not yet committed to the virtual reality future of gaming, but that they will become interested as the technology evolves.

The company leader tells Gamasutra that, “a lot of the bigger companies are looking at Rift saying, ‘probably VR is going to work, probably it's going to be a good thing. Maybe it's going to be Oculus, maybe it's going to be one of the established guys’.”

During CES 2014, the company revealed a new version of its device called Crystal Cove, which is designed to offer consumers a better experience with less motion sickness and better visuals.

Virtual reality is at the moment only implemented in a number of titles, but the situation is expected to change in the near future as Valve implements a new SDK for the tech.
