The development team at Obsidian surprised a lot of its fans by announcing that it was working on a new Armored Warfare title which aims to deliver a military-focused, fast-paced and realistic experience built around the most powerful modern tools of war.

Now a video from Richard Taylor, the project director working on the title, shows the community how committed the company is, and the 6-minute long footage delivers details about the size of the maps, the properties of the projectiles for the tanks and the graphics of the game.

Armored Warfare is designed to have fully destructible environments and will allow gamers to control a wide array of machines both in cooperative campaigns and in team-based competitive matches.

Classic main battle tanks, multipurpose fighting vehicles and long-range artillery will all be included in order to create a complex tactical situation, with each player able to find a role that suits him and his skills.

Armored Warfare will get a closed beta before the end of the year, and the title is created using the CryEngine tech.

At the moment, Obsidian is also working on a more classic project, Pillars of Eternity, which is set to deliver a party and turn-based role-playing experience set in an entirely new fantasy universe.
