No FIFA World Cup 2014 on PS4, Xbox One Due to Smaller Audience

Electronic Arts' Sports division has confirmed that FIFA World Cup 2014 isn't coming to PS4 and Xbox One due to the smaller audience, but promised that World Cup content would appear for FIFA Ultimate Team 14.

After plenty of reports, EA confirmed FIFA World Cup 2014 earlier today for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

Immediately, quite a lot of FIFA fans started asking about versions of the game for the PC, PS4, or Xbox One.

Now, EA has clarified things on Twitter, saying that "Why isn't our World Cup game on Xbox One / PS4? We are making the best game we can for our largest audience, which is still on 360 and PS3."

FIFA 14 owners on all platforms, however, will receive World Cup-specific content as we get closer to the start of the tournament this summer, so not all is lost.
