Nintendo President Satoru Iwata shed some light on the mysterious Wii Vitality Sensor peripheral that had been revealed some time ago.
He confirmed that it was never released due to a lack of good applications and because it didn't always work.
Nintendo surprised quite a few fans a few years ago when it revealed the Vitality Sensor add-on for the Wii, which was a device that could measure the heartbeat of a player.
Sadly, the sensor was never actually launched on the market, as Nintendo president Satoru Iwata confirmed that there weren't a lot of good applications and because the peripheral had only a 90% success rate, meaning that for some gamers it failed to work or record anything.
As of right now, the sensor is in a "pending" state, according to an investor document posted by Nintendo.
