Reggie Fils-Aime, the leader of Nintendo of America, says that the Year of Luigi that his company has been running throughout 2013 might not end on December 31, but in February or even March, with more special events and games set to launch for the Wii U and the 3DS.

He is quoted by Siliconera as saying that, “There are some Year of Luigi activities that will continue into 2014, including some of the special products that we've launched, so there will be some Luigi products to carry the Luigi banner into the next calendar year.”

So far, gamers had access to Luigi's Mansion 2, New Super Luigi U and Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, and a special version of the 3DS featuring the character was also offered.

The executive has not suggested what other Luigi centric experiences might be launched in the coming months.

Nintendo has not yet stated whether it plans to dedicate 2014 to another of its main characters.
