14 DAY TRIAL // Nintendo is announcing its financial results for the second quarter of the year, which ended on June 30, and the company says that during the three-month period, it only managed to sell 160,000 units of the Wii U home console.
Software sales for the platform have amounted to 1.03 million copies during the same time and it seems that New Super Luigi U and Game & Wario were the best-selling titles.
The company has announced that it is aiming to sell about 9 million units of the Wii U during the current fiscal year, a target that seems impossible to meet at the moment.
A price cut might be the only way to make the device competitive in the fall, when the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 are expected to launch.
Nintendo reports that it has made a small profit and that all its long-term forecasts remain unchanged.
