Dan Adelman, a business development manager working at Nintendo, says that he would like to see more indie titles launch on the eShop service, which delivers content for both the Wii U home console and the 3DS handheld.

The executive tells Gamasutra that, “It’s crazy that there are so many developers who don’t realize this, but yes, it is not only possible for an indie to get a game onto the eShop service, we’ve tried to make it as frictionless as possible.”

Nintendo has even dropped a long-time requirement for teams to work outside home and Adelman says that the eShop also gives developers full control over their pricing.

Recently, Sony has had great success with indie titles like Journey and The Unfinished Swan, which have sold well and have been critically appreciated, and Nintendo wants to replicate it.
