Nintendo has just started selling refurbished consoles via its North American online store, as it offers used versions of the 3DS and the DSi XL platforms.

In an effort to make more money off of its portable platforms, Nintendo has decided to begin selling refurbished versions of the 3DS and DSi XL handhelds through its official online store.

According to the company, all devices are "authentic Nintendo refursbished products" which means that, while some may have "minor cosmetic" faults, they're fully functional.

The devices, which have been "cleaned, tested, and inspected to meet Nintendo's high standards," all come with a one-year warranty.

What's more, besides offering standalone versions of the two portable platforms, the North America Nintendo online store also allows players to purchase bundles with certain games, like the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D.

As of yet, it's unclear whether Nintendo will expand this program in Europe as well.
