The development team at Turbine working on Infinite Crisis, the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena that uses the vast DC Universe comic book universe, announces that Nightmare Superman will be added to the title on April 9.

The new version of the best known superhero in the world was created when he became overcome with grief and regret after the entire population of Metropolis was turned into shades while he was battling a powerful beast that emerged from the Phantom Zone.

The team explains that, "Superman, once the hero of Metropolis, now wanders it as the maddened Phantom King."

In Infinite Crisis, Nightmare Superman will be focused on crowd control and will use Phantom Zone energy in order to both lock down enemies, preventing them from using their attacks, and to protect allies, boosting their own efficiency.

Infinite Crisis houses many versions of Superman and each player is free to choose the version of the character that best suits his own play style.

The MOBA title competes in a genre that's already very crowded and needs to find a clear element of individuality that can separate it from DOTA 2 from Valve, League of Legends from Riot Games and the coming Heroes of the Storm from Blizzard.
