Developer The Games Foundation from Germany is announcing that it is seeking crowd backing for a new video game project called Nibelungen Saga, which aims to take the classic tale that inspired numerous artists and turn it into a solid game experience.

The title will use adventure game and action mechanics, allowing gamers to control both Sigvard, a legendary warrior, and the young queen Gudrun as they seek to develop invaders and beasts in order to secure their kingdom.

The team says that it is creating a combat system that aims to be elegant and easy to understand, adding “Precision and good timing are critical, especially when surrounded by multiple enemies that once.”

At the same time characters will have to talk with an extensive cast of NPCs in order to find out more about the situation and decide how to proceed.

Nibelungen Saga has 59 days remaining in its Kickstarter drive.
