The next Tomb Raider game from developer Crystal Dynamics will have its multiplayer mode built by the actual studio, instead of being handled by Eidos Montreal as it happened with this year's reboot game.

The Tomb Raider franchise got a fresh start earlier this year when Crystal Dynamics released a new game that starred a younger version of protagonist Lara Croft. The title also had a multiplayer mode that was actually made by Eidos Montreal.

For the upcoming sequel, Crystal Dynamics wants to handle the multiplayer by itself and has begun hiring designers for the online mode, according to a new job listing on its website.

The designer will supervise the implementation of a multiplayer mode into the new title and even build new "modes and campaigns," hinting that a possible cooperative story could be added to the next iteration.

As of yet, however, Crystal Dynamics is still in the early stages of making the new Tomb Raider so don't expect any official details just yet.
