Electronic Arts confirms that it's going to reveal the next game in its Need for Speed racing series on May 21, through a special video. According to a color-corrected image of the official one, you can expect drifting and a possible reboot of the old Underground sub-series.

The Need for Speed franchise has been around for over 20 years, delivering lots of interesting racing experiences throughout all those different times.

While recent titles have focused more on the conflict between cops and racers, by far the most fondly remembered titles were the Underground ones that relied more on the car tuning culture.

After many rumors about a reboot of the series, EA and its Ghost Games team are finally ready to debut the next Need for Speed game.

The two companies have revealed a fresh image on the official Facebook, confirming that the announcement is coming on May 21, in the form of a video that's going to surface on the NFS YouTube channel.

However, if you quickly auto-correct the colors of the image, as you can see above, you can spot a couple of cars racing and drifting, in the form of a Porsche 911 and a Toyota GT-86, and both appeared to be tuned.

As such, it stands to reason that the next NFS game might be a reboot of the Underground series.
