The development team at Square Enix in charge of the Tomb Raider franchise announces that a next-generation game featuring Lara Croft is already in development and the company plans to soon deliver more information about it.

Phil Rogers, the chief executive officer of the publisher for North American and European operations, revealed the news in an official blog.

He states, "we’ll offer gamers more choice, support more platforms and try new things – but we will make sure that whatever the platform, we’ll always keep our focus on raising the quality bar. We feel that is what gamers should expect from a Square Enix game."

A new Tomb Raider video game is just a part of a wider strategy from Square Enix to launch new blockbusters on the PC, next-gen consoles, tablets and mobile devices.
