Developer Bugbear says that sales for its Next Car Game have doubled over the holiday weekend on the Early Access service from Steam and the company has now managed to go past the targets that the developers originally had in mind.

A statement quoted by VG247 says that, “Although our game is still at a pretty early stage, and as such, contains many missing features and numerous bugs, the players have loved what we already got and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.”

Bugbear says that the community that is developing around the Next Car Game is already offering a number of interesting suggestions that the team might implement in the coming builds.

At the moment, the new racing game, which promises a return to the roots of the genre, will be launched on the PC, but if enough money is raised, it might also be offered on home consoles.
