Valve has confirmed that it's going to roll out some new features for its Steam Guard security service today, September 23, in order to better protect the accounts and the items owned by Steam users.

Steam has tens of millions of users worldwide and Valve has always tried to keep them as safe as possible, even if they don't take necessary precautions to protect their accounts.

One such system is Steam Guard which, when allowing users access to Steam from a new computer, requires them to wait 15 days until they can make trades or other such things.

New Steam Guard features are rolling out today, September 23, in order to better protect the items owned by Steam users, and Valve has confirmed a few details about it on its forums.

"The new changes should not affect users with multiple devices in the same household. If you have a device that has Steam Guard enabled in your household for 15 days and you enable Steam Guard on a new device in your household you should not be affected by the cooldown for the new device."

Steam Guard will no longer trigger restrictions when dealing with web browsers and cookies, nor with dynamic ISPs or travel, according to the studio.
