John Smedley, the leader of Sony Online Entertainment, is suggesting that the unannounced MMO that the company currently has in development is linked to the Star Wars universe and is dedicated to players who loved the Galaxy experience.

In a Reddit Ask Me Anything session, the developer has explained that he is not able to offer more details at the moment, but that there's more information about the MMO available for those who know where to look for it.

Speaking directly to fans of Star Wars: Galaxies, he explained, "Once we launch it… you can come home now. It’s called 'go figure it out for yourself'."

The MMO that Smedley is talking about was shut down by SOE in December 2011 because the company could no longer prolong its deal with LucasArts.

At the moment, the license for video games based on Star Wars rests with Electronic Arts, which runs The Old Republic MMO through BioWare.
