Sony Online Entertainment has released yet another video for their upcoming first person shooter MMO Planetside 2, with the developers working on the game detailing the new game engine and the factions that will fight in it.

There’s also some gameplay shown towards the end of the video, although it does not offer much in the way of new information about the video game.

PLanetside 2 will allow gamers to choose one faction and a character class and will then plunge the player into multifaction war, with gamers required to be both tactically aware and quick on the trigger in order to help their fellow players and secure both resources and territory.

The game will use the free-to-play business mode, which Sony Online Entertainment has already drive tested with DC Universe Online.

Planetside 2 is set to be launched during 2012 and will be offered on the PC initially, although Sony might also be looking into a PlayStation 3 version.
