The development team at Kojima Productions and publisher Konami have launched a new live action trailer for the upcoming Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, showing off yet another Raiden-based flashback which offers an insight into the origins of the character.

The trailer is seen as a follow-up to the previous offering, War on Our Shores, and continues to mix the personal drama of the protagonist and the political machinations of a senator.

The next Metal Gear video game will be starring Raiden, who was first seen in the second game of the series, and will focus on his action-oriented abilities rather than on the traditional stealth gameplay that the series has been known for.

Raiden is half human and half cyborg and much of his backstory will also be explored in Revengeance.

The Platinum Games developed video game will be launched on the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, either in late 2012 or in early 2013.
