The racing game hasn't received a release date for the PC platform

Need for Speed: Rivals, the next game in the racing series, will appear for the PC, not just on current (PS3, Xbox 360) and next-gen consoles (PlayStation 4, Xbox One), at least according to developer Ghost Games.

The NFS series is going to receive a brand new installment this year coming from new studio Ghost Games and from the veteran team at Criterion.

The new NFS: Rivals game has been confirmed for current and next-gen platforms, but Ghost's Executive Producer Marcus Nilsson has confirmed to Joystiq that the racing title will also appear on the PC platform, although he declined to say if it was going to launch in November, alongside the other versions.

Nilsson did mention, however, that the game's PC edition looked easily as great as the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 versions, so PC owners won't have to worry about getting an inferior experience.

No other details have been mentioned, so expect to hear more about Need for Speed: Rivals on PC later this year.
