Natural Doctrine, Kadokawa Games' upcoming tactical role-playing game, has just gotten a couple of new details regarding its online mode, ahead of its approaching release.

The game's online mode allows players to take on and battle other gamers using an original custom-made deck of card-based units that they have collected and assembled beforehand.

All the online mode cards will have the same status, equipment and skills that they have in the single-player mode, but each card's cost, size and the amount of Pluton possessed will be critical in the deck formation phase.

The online mode functions in a very simple manner: you construct a deck of cards from your own pool of such items, then proceed to search for a battle or co-op room or create your own, challenge a battle mission and then profit by being awarded Card Points based on how well you performed.

Card Points can be used to buy new card packs, and you can also invite your PlayStation Network friends to your games.

Deck building will have some rules to it, in order to promote a more balanced play experience. As such, each card will have a maximum size of eight, and there can also be fractional sizes such as 1.5. There is also a limit on the total cost of cards per deck, and ruring co-op play, only one side is able to make use of a mini-deck.

Natural Doctrine is scheduled to come out for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita gaming platforms from Sony this Thursday, on April 3, in Japan.
