Developer Kadokawa Games has released a new series of screenshots of their upcoming tactical role-playing game Natural Doctrine, alongside the official PlaySation 4 box art.

The RPG is directed by Atsushi Ii, director of PSP rhythm god game Patapon, and the title's key gameplay mechanic will be natural selection. The actual gameplay will focus on turn-based battles between a large number of allies and enemies, as can be seen in the screenshots posted on AGB.

Natural Doctrine takes place in a fantasy setting, a chaotic universe where humans fight other races using medieval weaponry and magic, and players will uncover the storyline from the perspective of Jeff, a guard solider whose duty is to protect the fortress city of Feste from monsters.

The game will feature multiplayer and will offer cross-save compatibility across all platforms. It is scheduled for release in Japan exclusively on Sony consoles, with the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita platforms receiving it on March 19.
