Shin Unozawa, a vice president at video game publisher Namco Bandai, says that his company expects the PlayStation 4 home console to sell between 300,000 and 500,000 units on the Japanese market before the end of the current fiscal year on March 31.

DualShockers quotes the figures and says that the company also expects to see solid sales for titles that will be launched on the new Sony device.

The executive also believes that the PlayStation 4 can move around 6 million units to gamers all over the world by March 31.

Sony has revealed that its new platform managed to sell 5.3 million devices until February 8.

It is also saying that the Japanese launch has put a strain on its supply chain, which might mean that it will be hard to find a PlayStation 4 in stores in North America and in Europe in the coming weeks.
