The NPD Group says that Madden NFL 25 from EA Sports and Saints Row 4 from Volition has sold well enough during August on the United States market to deliver a 21 percent increase in the value of overall sales.

This is the first time since November 2011 that the sector has seen an actual increase and the overall value the market has reached is 305 million dollars (226 million Euro).

Madden NFL 25 has the best-selling game of the tracked period, with more than one million units delivered to gamers.

The rest of the top ten includes:

2. Saints Row 4 3. Disney Infinity 4. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist 5. Minecraft 6. Mario & Luigi: Dream Team 7. NCAA Football 14 8. Payday 2 9. Final Fantasy XIV Online: A Realm Reborn 10. Pikmin 3

It will be interesting to see whether the upward trend continues for September and October.
