The NPD Group announces that Titanfall, the first-person shooter developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts, continues to lead the video game sales chart for the month of April in the United States, despite the fact that it is offered on a lower number of platforms than its competitors.

The game is offered on the Xbox One, the 360 and the PC and the two companies associated with it have not said exactly how many copies have been sold since launch.

The weakness of the April launch schedule is underscored by the fact that Call of Duty: Ghosts, the title from Infinity Ward and publisher Activision that was first offered in late 2013, is in the second spot for the month.

The last place on the podium is also occupied by an older title: NBA 2K14, which has benefited from the fact that the real-world competition in the US is entering the playoff period.

The rest of the NPD Group compiled top ten includes, according to VG247:

Minecraft - Xbox 360 Lego: The Hobbit - 3DS, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One The Lego Movie Videogame - 3DS, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One LEGO Marvel Super Heroes - 3DS, DS, PC, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - 3DS, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360 Grand Theft Auto 5 - PS3, Xbox 360 Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag - PC, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One

Overall, software sales for the month of April have decline by about 10 percent when compared to the same period of 2013.
