Titanfall, the first-person shooter developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts, has taken the number one position in the United States video game chart for the month of March 2014, as compiled by the NPD Group.

The title was offered on the Xbox One home console from Microsoft and the PC and managed to perform better than InFamous: Second Son, the PlayStation 4 exclusive that was created by Sucker Punch and launched by Sony.

Liam Callahan, an analyst for the NPD Group, is quoted by GamesIndustry.biz as stating, “Year-over-year sales of every platform declined from March 2013, with the exception of the PS Vita, which saw sales grow due to the release of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster.”

The rest of the top ten includes:

South Park: The Stick Of Truth – Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC Call Of Duty: Ghosts – PlayStation 4, PS3, Xbox One, 360, PC, Wii U Dark Souls II - Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes – PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PS3, 360 NBA 2K14 – PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PS3, 360, PC Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster – PlayStation 3, Vita The LEGO Movie Videogame – PlayStation 3, Xbox One, 3DS, Wii U, PS3, Vita, 360 Minecraft – Xbox 360

The hardware situation is reversed, with the PlayStation 4 from Sony selling better than the Xbox One from Microsoft for the same period.
