The level of visual detail in the game is amazing, and there's also some face punching

NHL 15's E3 2014 gameplay trailer looks ridiculously good and features some of the shiniest helmets ever seen in the biz, as well as some wild brawling action.

EA Canada is preparing to unleash its second wave of sports games built on the proprietary Ignite engine, and it seems that the experience that the dev team gained while putting together FIFA 14 has really paid off.

While FIFA 14, the first to hit next-gen platforms on the engine, looked pretty snazzy itself, FIFA 15, EA Sports UFC and NHL 15 all look amazing, with realistic animations and in-depth cloth physics, not to mention the most accurate athlete likenesses in history.

Graphics aren't everything though, and we'll have to see how the game actually plays out in order to see whether all the sweet reflections, waving cloth and facial animations aren't simply a distraction.

This generation of EA Sports games features a lot of good detail that makes the action pop out more, from realistic shadows, both on the ground as well as on the players, to richer crowds, featuring an unparalleled level of variety, but the biggest question is whether or not the devs can bring anything new and exciting to the long-standing series.

NHL 15 is currently scheduled to come out in September, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One platforms.
