The development team at EA Sports announces that Martin Brodeur is the cover athlete for the upcoming NHL 14 hockey simulation title, which is set to be launched on September 10 in North America and three days later in Europe.

The announcement was made via a new trailer for the game, and the runner-up for the position is Sergei Bobrovsky.

NHL 14 is designed to introduce new elements of realism to the sim, and gamers will get to play with a better physics engine and with more realistic player personalities.

Martin Brodeur is seen as one of the best goalies in hockey in a long time, but some fans of the sport are claiming that his best years are behind him and that a younger player should have been selected for the NHL 14 cover.
