The development team at EA Sports is delivering a launch trailer for its NHL 14 simulation, which is designed to show off the core game mechanics of the hockey title, but also the potential for violence that it involves.

The team says, “Experience the big hits, real fights, and unbelievable speed and skill of hockey in NHL 14.”

The game uses an enhanced physics engine for both the players and the puck, which means that there’s more realism on the ice and allows gamers to deploy a more tactical approach.

Brawls are one of the realities of hockey and the new EA Sports title gives players the option of assaulting each other if things heat up.

NHL 14 is available on the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and there are no plans to launch it on next-gen consoles.
