The development teams at Visual Concepts and 2K Sports are announcing that they are working with well-known movie director Spike Lee to create the new career mode in NBA 2K16, using his experience to deliver some interesting moments and challenges for gamers to explore.

Neither of the involved parties is offering information about the tweaks made to MyCareer at the moment.

Spike Lee has directed a lot of impressive movies, including "25th Hour" and "Malcolm X," and is also a supporter of the New York Knicks.

He states, "Partnering with legendary 2K and Visual Concepts is one of the unique challenges I've had in filmmaking, and allows me to push the boundaries of innovative storytelling. My hope is fans will feel even more connected to the world of basketball in NBA 2K16."

Unfortunately, the trailer does not deliver too many details about how Spike Lee will influence the game.

NBA 2K16 is set to launch on September 29 on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, the PC, and older home consoles.

The development team has promised a new take on the basketball sim genre, with a focus on improved physics and gameplay.

Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans, Stephen Curry from the Golden State Warriors and James Harden of the Houston Rockets are the cover athletes this year.
