The development team at Visual Concepts and publisher 2K Sports are announcing that the soundtrack for the upcoming NBA 2K15 will be created by well-known producer and singer Pharrell Williams.

The company says that it plans to deliver the most extensive and unique musical score for a sports simulation title in the franchise and that a full list of the included songs will be offered at a later date.

It's unclear whether Pharrell Williams plans to include any of its well-known hits, like the rather ubiquitous Happy, on the soundtrack for NBA 2K15.

Apparently, the producer believes that the songs need to be diverse and that they should also be able to deliver an extra jolt of motivation to gamers.

Previously, the series also benefited from work done by hip-hop superstar Jay-Z.

The cover athlete for NBA 2K15 is Kevin Durant, the leader of the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the video game will be offered on the PC, the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and current-gen consoles on October 7 in the United States and on October 10 in Europe.

The studio working on the title aims to deliver a more accurate portrayal of basketball, both on and off the court.
