Video game developer Maximum Family Games has announced that it plans to launch a port of Myst for the Nintendo 3DS handheld, releasing a trailer for the new port.

It seems that the port will not use the core features of the new Nintendo devices, including gyroscopic controls and the new glass free 3D, but it will focus on using the stylus in order to control the on-screen action.

The trailer shows scenes that should be familiar to those who have played Myst on other platforms and it mentions a launch date for late March.

Myst is a very classic point and click adventure that was first launched during 1993 and has since then received ports for a lot of devices, from the Saturn to the 3DO and iOS-powered devices.

The core gameplay of Myst mixes world exploration and complex puzzles, all dragged forward by a complex story, mixing mythology and branching ending.
