Developer Taleworlds Entertainment and publisher Paradox Interactive have announced that they are preparing a new downloadable content package for Mount & Blade Warband, which will be called Napoleonic Wars and will allow gamers to enjoy the battles that the French general has fought in the final years of his career.

The new DLC will include support for multiplayer battles that will include 250 soldiers, with every player able to choose a character from a range of 220 units drawn from the five biggest European countries of the moment.

The big gameplay addition coming in the Napoleonic Wars includes a range of artillery pieces, from field cannons to mortars and rockets, all of them ready to be controlled by physics-passionate players.

Trenches and barricades are also included in order to give the Engineer class a bigger presence on the battlefield. In addition, epoch-appropriate battlefield musicians are present to play the songs specific to each nation and regiment.

The launch date for the Mount & Blade Warband: Napoleonic Wars DLC will appear later this spring.
