Video game publisher Paradox Interactive announces that Mount & Blade is no longer being supported by the company starting at midnight on January 31 and that all rights for the title will be transferred to the original developer, TaleWorlds.

The game has existed for five and a half years and allows players to engage in complex battles, a lot of sieges and tournaments in a Medieval world, using realistic combat mechanics.

Paradox states in the official forum announcement that, “We feel honoured to have fought beside you and at our final parting of ways would bid our farewells with a gift which has automatically been added to your Steam library.”

All those who have played Mount & Blade now have access to an invitation for the Early Access alpha stage for Magicka: Wizard Wars.

Paradox is also shutting down the game’s forums in the coming months and gamers are encouraged to save any information they want to preserve.
