The sales figures for the recently released Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition fighting game on the PC are "way, way above expectations," according to the game's lead designer, Ed Boon, who confirms that the new version is quite popular.

The Mortal Kombat franchise received a successful reboot back in 2011 when developer NetherRealm and publisher Warner Bros. launched the game on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

Since then, it appeared on the PS Vita, in 2012, and has recently surfaced on the PC, last month, in the form of the Komplete Edition, which includes all of the previously released DLC, from new fighters to skins, and more.

Now, while talking with fans on Twitter, Ed boon has confirmed that the sales figures for the PC version of Mortal Kombat are "way, way above expectations."

While he didn't offer any concrete sales figures, it's clear that this performance might actually make NetherRealm port its other new title, Injustice, onto the PC.
