The development team at NethrRealm is ready to confirm that Raiden, the God of Thunder, will be included in the upcoming Mortal Kombat X, and is ready to also give fans a first look at the powers that the character will be able to wield.

It was unlikely that the god would not be included in the game, given that he was part of all installments in the series until now and is one of the favorites of the community.

Raiden is one of the good guys in the mythology of the series, a protector of the human realm who is trying to find the best champions who are able to stand up to the forces of evil and stop their advance.

Mortal Kombat X was recently revealed and is designed to bring the series back to its roots, with an improved energy meter mechanic, three versions for all included characters, and the option for players to interact with the environment.

The story of the title will jump 25 years into the future and will include some non-linear experiences.

Mortal Kombat X will be launched on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, the PC and current-gen consoles at some point in 2015.
