Publisher Warner Bros. has announced that NetherRealm Studios' highly anticipated fighting game Mortal Kombat X is coming out on April 14, 2015, worldwide.

Additionally, the publisher has announced that Goro, the iconic four-armed monster also featured in the first movie adaptation, will be available as a pre-order bonus playable character, and presumably later on as purchasable DLC.

For the time being, the Goro bit has only been confirmed through a UK retail partner, so there's no telling what the iconic brute's fate will be, after an eight-year absence from the series' character roster.

In any case, Goro will most likely also come in three flavors, with slight gameplay variations that will impact on his fighting style, just like all the other fighters.

Mortal Kombat X will introduce a large number of new characters to the universe, and so far D'Vorah, Ferra/Torr/ Cassie Cage and Kotal Kahn have been introduced, alongside confirmed comebacks from Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden and Kano.

The fighting title is said to include an original and brand new storyline that will pick things up where 2011's Mortal Kombat game left them off, and will span twenty-five years.

The game is coming to PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, on April 14, 2015, around the world.
