Monster Hunter Online is now official, as a special gameplay video and a batch of screenshots have been leaked on the web, seemingly confirming the special title coming from Capcom and Chinese company Tencent.

Capcom's Monster Hunter franchise has impressed millions of gamers from around the world, particularly in Asia where the series gained a loyal cult-like following.

Now, after a few rumors, Capcom has apparently teamed up with Chinese giant Tencent to release Monster Hunter Online, a new type of experience set in the franchise's universe.

According to the first gameplay video, available above, and the screenshots below, via NeoGAF, the new title looks extremely impressive largely because it's powered by Crytek's CryEngine 3 technology, the same one that appeared in Crysis 3.

No other official details are known, but you can expect Capcom and Tencent to make a formal announcement in the very near future.
