The development team at TenCent is delivering a new trailer for its upcoming Monster Hunter Online, designed to show off the power of the graphics engine used and convince fans that it will replicate the unique atmosphere of the series.

The video is made up of cinematic scenes, with no actual look at the gameplay of Monster Hunter Online.

It's unclear how much of what players can see in the trailer will actually be part of the MMO experience when it is launched.

Monster Hunter Online is at the moment only confirmed as coming to the Chinese market, which will likely be used to test the popularity of the idea.

The series allows players to customize characters and their equipment before hunting a number of fantasy beasts, each with own unique behavior.

A Western release might be planned for 2014, presumably only on the PC.
