The developers at Mojang have announced that their upcoming Scrolls title is getting close to an alpha stage, which will use a limited number of players to test the core game concepts.

They have also unveiled that the company then plans to launch an open beta, allowing those interested to buy the game for a reduced price, a model similar to that used by Minecraft.

The alpha stage of Scrolls includes single-player matches, multiplayer modes and the entire Deck Builder, with more than 100 scrolls included to allow gamers to create their own decks.

The open beta stage will also include a single-player world.

Jakob Porser, a developer working at Mojang, added, “We will still have a big bag of goodies that we plan to include over time, such as an auction house where you may buy or sell scrolls from each other and additional features in the world such as character customization, items, quests and so on.”
