14 DAY TRIAL // Bob Rafei, the chief executive officer of Big Red Button, says that the newly announced Sonic Boom universe and the modern incarnation of the hedgehog can exist side by side in the long term.
He is quoted by CVG as explaining that, “Modern Sonic is still a key component. He sits side by side with this product and delivers a much different sort of experience.”
SEGA has already explained that the new Sonic Boom is designed to re-image all the main characters and introduce a number of new gameplay mechanics that will surprise veterans of the series.
The game will be accompanied by a new animated television series that is designed to appeal to Western audiences and by a new line of toys.
SEGA and the development team at Big Red Button also assure fans that the essence of the Sonic universe will not be lost with the introduction of Boom.
