The first trailer for the upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: Missing Link shows some flashy battles taking place in outer space.

Namco Bandai has teamed up with B. B. Studio in order to deliver Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: Missing Link to the PlayStation 3. The original Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story was a trilogy for the Sega Saturn and Dreamcast, released during 1996 and 1997.

Players will form Mobile Suit platoons of three, and will engage in various exciting but perilous missions. They will be able to change their Mobile Suit during battles, and both offensive and defensive support will be supplied to them via aircraft during the missions.

Battles will take place both on the ground and in space, with players choosing a side between the Earth Federation Forces or the Principality of Zeon.

A release date has yet to be announced and it is unclear if the game will also make it to the west or if it will only be launched in Japan.
